Accessibility is the concept of whether a product or service can be used by everyone—however they encounter it.
Accessibility laws exist to aid people with disabilities, but designers should try to accommodate all potential users in many contexts of use anyway.
Accessibility is not just about disabilities. It also covers supporting:
- Different platforms
- Slow network connections
- Old computing systems
- Situational limitations such as poor lighting and loud noises
Digital accessibility is about usability, about digital inclusion. Do your recordings have clear useable transcripts? So people can watch and learn regardless of if they are deaf or on a busy bus) can it be followed just by listening? Are visuals described?
